I disagree. I would like to see a good bit more forest, even in expository sermons. I simply didn’t see Ryken making enough connections to the redemptive historical storyline for my taste, or even to the thought flow of the book itself in a macro sort of way. One of the songs we sang was “They Way, Not Mine.” The words are by Horatius Bonar, but I´m guessing the tune we sang was written by someone at BJ.
I liked the song so much that I wrote out the notes by hand on some staff paper. I recently found the score I had written out, and decided to look for the music at the BJU bookstore. It seems to me the song is also on a CD done by BJ. We are currently missionaries in Norway, so I have no way of looking for the music at the bookstore myself anytime soon. If anyone can tell me where I might find this music, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! Ruth Talbot
